Welcome to the International Women's Polo Association

History

Following it's initial conception in 1989 and its formal UK launch in April 1997, the IWPA now has representatives in 31 countries worldwide and is involved in the organisation of 10 International tournaments. The Associations main sponsor is the Ascot Park Polo Club who supports its Founder and Chairman, Pippa Grace plus the association's administrative costs.

Aims

The Association assists with the International development of the growing number of women players. It aims to increase the number of new women players through scholarships and the identification of international playing opportunities; to encourage the provision of facilities for female players at clubs around the world; to increase the level of sponsorship and financial support directed towards women's polo and its players; to promote the use of female Professional Players; to encourage the development of National Women's Polo Development Committees.

Playing Base

The IWPA creates opportunities for women at clubs throughout the world and in particular at its home base, the Ascot Park Polo Club were both the UK National Women's Polo Touranment and the Women's World Polo Championships are hosted. Ladies Chukkas are held every Wednesday morning plus the IWPA organises its annual subsidised National Ladies Training Day at the Club.

Membership

£25/US$45 per annum which supports the goals of the IWPA and helps provide information, fixtures, results and news to women world wide. Members will receive invitations to complimentary and subsidized women's polo training, tournaments and social events world-wide
